This weather is crispy, like the leaves. It is my favorite season. Happy Fall!!!
We are in the countdown to our much anticipated fourth annual Flying Home Event on October 10th. In this issue of the Digest you'll see some of the wonderful items that we will have for silent and live auction. It's not too late, please get your tickets today. You can get tickets by reading below and hit on the "buy now" link below.
The school year began and our children (including many former residents) started school with new outfits, new shoes and a backpack full of supplies. Everyone was looking foward to the new school year. I love the look of Kindergarteners on the first day of school. As school begins, so do clubs and activities. These groups have done wonderful things to assist us. Some members have collected items that we need, others have volunteered to help out our residents, still others have raised funds to support us in our work. If your group would like to learn more about how you can assist us, please contact Abby at Dakota Woodlands.

Flying Home is an amazing event which benefits Dakota Woodlands supportive services. The night features our own special type of live and silent auctions with hand painted birdhouses paired with fabulous gift packages. There will be great food, entertainment and an opportunity to learn more about Dakota Woodlands.
Families at Dakota Woodlands are all in flight. They are flying off to better housing, better education, better jobs, and a brighter future for their families. Dakota Woodlands provides basic needs and supportive services to help them “fly” home. This event would not be possible without our generous sponsors.

Partner of the Month
For the month of September we are highlighting a local business which has supported us in so many ways.
United Stationers, which is headquartered in Eagan, has chosen Dakota Woodlands to receive their generous support over the year. In the month of September alone the employees at United Stationers have: organized a huge school supply drive, held a silent auction to raise funds for our supportive services and volunteered their time by preparing a meal for our residents. This is a fantastic partnership that is wonderful for everyone involved. We receive all of these wonderful gifts and the employees at United Stationers seem to have a great time doing it! We are so grateful for all of the support we receive from United Stationers. Thank you for all of the wonderful things you have done for us.

...How to Help...
Volunteer Opportunities
We have opportunities for individuals or small groups to assist us, without a large time commitment
We need a few more people to assist with our Flying Home Event, especially later in the evening 9-11:30 p.m, October 10th.
- Do you like to sort and organize items? We'd love to have your help once a week, or a couple hours a month
- Child care help is needed weekday evenings and weekends
- Would your group like to come in to organize a game night, Bingo Event or special meal for our families?
