Happy volunteer appreciation week!
Because of you, we get to celebrate this week! We are so thankful this week and all year for our dedicated volunteers. We have volunteers in our building every day of the week. Did you know we have volunteers picking up donations, sorting donations, helping at the front desk, running the client store, performing maintenance, helping in childcare, tutoring, offering fun events, teaching classes, cooking meals, and more? It really does take a team of amazing volunteers to get all of these jobs done throughout the week. It always amazes me as the right volunteers fall into place to bring their skills and talents to their area of volunteering. Volunteers seem to light up as they show off their cooking, organizing, maintenance, or people skills.
In 2021 volunteers donated 2,680 hours of time to Dakota Woodlands! This year we are on track to crush that number with even more volunteer hours. The time given by our volunteers is a valuable piece to the overall services we are able to provide to the families we serve. Whether you serve directly with our families or behind the scenes, the impact of service travels throughout the building.
Thank you from all of us at Dakota Woodlands!

We welcome volunteers with open arms at Dakota Woodlands (DW). We need a community of talents, skills and hearts to help those less fortunate, bringing a light of hope to those experiencing uncertainty. Together we can build a bridge for those that are transitioning from a life of disparity to a stable life of promise. Homelessness is more than just not having a place to call home. If you would like to help, there are many volunteer opportunities at DW. Start by clicking on the volunteer application below or send your inquiry to volunteer@dakotawoodlands.org. We would love for you to join our team. Working together as a community will strengthen our mission to end homelessness in Dakota County!
