The Heart of Cabi Foundation was started in 2005 as a way to help women rebuild their wardrobes after a natural disaster. They started partnering with organizations that could benefit from clothing donations, but instead of just a flat donation, they work with the women to get them outfitted in sizes and styles that work for them.
The foundation has since morphed into a partnership with Opportunity International, and they help fund micro-loans to women in developing countries so they can start their own small businesses to work their way out of poverty and support their families to change their future. The organization is also helping build schools in Rwanda.
The impact of the Heart of Cabi Foundation has put a footprint on local and international territories. The ladies living at the Shelter were excited that the Heart of Cabi Foundation reached out to Dakota Woodlands to hold a clothing event at our facility. The organization sent local stylists to set up a clothing boutique with a dressing room, mirrors, clothing racks and all. The stylist helped outfit the women and were given 5-10 pieces of new clothing for their wardrobe. This amounted to over 250 pieces of clothing!
Thank you The Heart of Cabi Foundation!
